There are two ways to add a client to your agency. You can create a brand-new workspace for a client who does not have creavio yet, or you can propose managing a business that already has its own creavio account. Both start from Agency → Clients.
Create a new client workspace
If your client does not already use creavio, create the workspace for them. Go to Agency → Clients → Add client. A name and a slug are all that is required. creavio provisions the managed workspace for you, so it can exist before the client has ever received an email. From there you connect their accounts and start working.
Adopt an existing creavio business
If the business already has its own creavio account, you do not create a duplicate. Instead you propose to manage their existing workspace. This is adoption: a request to link your agency to their account so you can help run it.
When you propose adoption:
- creavio creates a pending link between your agency and their workspace. A pending link grants you no access at all.
- The client receives an email that names your agency and the workspace you are asking to manage.
- The email opens a page that explains exactly what your access would mean. No login is required; the link itself is the proof of who they are.
- The client approves or declines. Nothing changes unless they approve.
What approval does, and does not, do
Approving links your agency to the client's workspace so you can help run it. It does not transfer the workspace to you. Adoption links; it does not own. Specifically:
- The client keeps their own login and their own account.
- Approval never touches their ownership or their billing.
- The client can end the arrangement at any time.
Until a proposal is approved it stays pending and gives you no reach into the client's workspace. A declined request grants nothing.
A workspace can only be adopted as a client, not another agency
You can only propose to adopt an active, ordinary client workspace. You cannot adopt another agency, and you cannot adopt your own agency.
