Setting Up Your First Package

Setting Up Your First Package

Packages simplify the buying decision for your clients and help you earn more per session. Instead of listing individual prices for every service, a package bundles everything into one clear offering. Here's how to create your first package in creavio.

Understanding Package Structure

A photography package typically includes:

  • Session time: How long you'll shoot (e.g., 1 hour, 2 hours, full day).
  • Digital images: How many edited digital files are included (e.g., 25 images, all edited images, full gallery).
  • Products: Physical items like prints, albums, or canvases.
  • Extras: Additional services like a second location, outfit changes, or rush delivery.

Creating Your Package

  1. Go to Settings > Packages and click New Package.
  2. Enter a name that's descriptive but simple (e.g., "Essential Portrait," "Premium Wedding," "Mini Session").
  3. Write a description listing everything included. Use bullet points for clarity.
  4. Set the price. This is the total package price, not the sum of individual items.
  5. Link it to a session type so it appears when clients book that type of session.
  6. Click Save.

The Three-Package Strategy

Most successful photographers offer three packages per session type:

  • Basic: The minimum offering. Session time and a set number of digital images. This is your entry-level option.
  • Standard: The most popular choice. More images, longer session time, and one physical product (like a set of prints). Price this as your target — most clients will choose it.
  • Premium: The full experience. All images, longer session, album, prints, and extras. This anchors the value of the standard package by comparison.

Pricing Your Packages

Price from the top down. Start with your premium package — what would your ideal session look like if the client said yes to everything? Price that. Then remove items to create the standard and basic tiers. The gaps between tiers should be large enough to differentiate value but not so large that clients feel priced out.

Displaying Packages

Packages appear on your booking page and in proposals. Clients can compare options side by side. creavio highlights the most popular package with a badge — set this to your standard tier to guide client decisions.

Updating Packages

Review and update your packages at least twice a year. Raise prices as your skill and demand grow. Archive old packages rather than deleting them — existing bookings and invoices reference the original package details.
