Invoice Reminders

Invoice Reminders

Chasing payments is awkward and time-consuming. creavio's automated invoice reminders handle the follow-up for you — professionally and on schedule.

Setting Up Reminders

Go to Money > Settings > Invoice Reminders to configure your default reminder schedule. You can set reminders at multiple intervals:

  • Before due date: 3 days, 7 days, or 14 days before
  • On the due date
  • After due date: 3 days, 7 days, 14 days, and 30 days overdue

Customizing Reminder Messages

Each reminder interval has a default message that you can customize. Early reminders are gentle nudges. Overdue reminders are firmer. Edit the templates under Settings > Email Templates > Invoice Reminders.

Available template variables:

  • {client_name} — the client's first name
  • {invoice_number} — the invoice reference number
  • {amount_due} — the outstanding balance
  • {due_date} — the original due date
  • {days_overdue} — number of days past due
  • {payment_link} — direct link to pay online

Per-Invoice Reminder Settings

You can override the default schedule for any individual invoice. Open the invoice, click Reminder Settings, and adjust the schedule or disable reminders entirely for that invoice.

Viewing Reminder History

Every reminder sent is logged on the invoice detail page. You can see when each reminder was sent, whether it was opened, and if the client clicked the payment link.

Tips for Effective Reminders

  1. Keep the tone friendly — most late payments are accidental
  2. Always include the direct payment link
  3. Send a pre-due-date reminder — it prevents late payments in the first place
  4. For chronically late clients, require deposits or upfront payment on future work
