Favorites & Client Picks
Letting clients mark their favorite photos streamlines album design, print orders, and social media sharing. Here's how the favorites system works in creavio.
How Clients Mark Favorites
When a client opens their gallery, they can click the heart icon on any photo to mark it as a favorite. On desktop, they can also press the "F" key as a shortcut while viewing an image. Favorites are saved automatically and persist across sessions so they don't need to pick everything in one sitting.
Setting a Favorites Limit
For album design or print packages, you often need clients to select a specific number of images. When creating or editing a gallery:
- Go to the gallery's Settings
- Toggle Favorites Limit on
- Enter the maximum number of selections allowed
- Optionally set a minimum ("Please select at least 20 images")
- Save the gallery settings
When a limit is set, clients see a counter showing how many picks they've used. Once they hit the maximum, the heart icon is disabled on remaining photos. They can always swap selections by unfavoriting one image and favoriting another.
Receiving Client Picks
When a client finishes selecting favorites and clicks Submit Selections, you receive:
- An email notification listing all selected images
- A dedicated view in the gallery showing only favorited images
- The option to download all favorites as a ZIP file
Multiple Selection Rounds
Some workflows require multiple rounds of selection. For example, round one narrows 500 images to 100, then round two narrows to 40 for the album. creavio supports this. After the client submits round one, you can reset the favorites and set a new limit for round two.
Favorites Without a Limit
If you don't set a limit, clients can favorite as many images as they like. This works well for social media sharing or when you want clients to flag images they'd like prints of without committing to a number.
You can view a client's favorites at any time, even before they've submitted. Go to the gallery and click View Favorites to see their current selections in real time.
