Proofing & Selections

Proofing streamlines the image selection process. Instead of back-and-forth emails, clients browse their gallery, mark favorites, and submit their selections — all within creavio.

Enabling Proofing on a Collection

Open a collection and go to Settings > Proofing
Toggle Enable Proofing
Set the selection limit (e.g., "Choose your 30 favorites")
Optionally enable comments so clients can leave notes on specific images
Click Save

The Client Experience

When clients open a proofing-enabled collection, they see:

A heart icon on each image to mark favorites
A selection counter showing how many they've picked vs. their limit
An optional comment box on each image for notes
A Submit Selections button when they're ready

Clients can change their minds before submitting. Once submitted, selections are locked unless you unlock them.

Reviewing Selections

After a client submits, you'll receive a notification. Open the collection to see:

All selected images highlighted
Any comments the client left
A filtered view showing only selected images
Export options to download just the selections

Multiple Rounds

For projects that require narrowing down (like album design), you can run multiple proofing rounds. After reviewing round one, unlock the collection, adjust the limit, and ask the client to refine further.

Best Practices

Set clear expectations about selection limits in your contract
Include 20-30% more images than the selection limit to give clients real choice
Send a reminder if selections haven't been submitted within a week
Use the comment feature to gather feedback for album layouts
