What's happening
You're trying to upload photos or videos to creavio but the upload is failing, getting stuck, or showing an error. Files may hang at 0% or fail partway through the upload process.
Common causes
- The file exceeds creavio's maximum upload size
- The file format isn't supported
- Your internet connection is unstable or too slow for large uploads
- Browser issues are interrupting the upload process
- Multiple large files are being uploaded simultaneously, overwhelming the connection
How to fix it
1. Check file size limits
creavio has upload size limits to ensure optimal performance:
- Images: Up to 50 MB per file
- Videos: Up to 5 GB per file
If your file exceeds these limits, you'll need to compress or resize it before uploading. For images, export at a lower resolution or use JPEG compression. For videos, use a tool like HandBrake to reduce file size while maintaining quality.
2. Verify the file format is supported
creavio supports the following formats:
- Images: JPEG, PNG, WebP, HEIC, GIF
- Videos: MP4, MOV, WebM
If you're trying to upload RAW files (CR2, NEF, ARW), PSD, TIFF, or other professional formats, you'll need to export them to a supported format first. Most photo editing software can batch-export to JPEG or PNG.
3. Check your internet connection
Large file uploads require a stable internet connection. If your upload keeps failing or getting stuck:
- Run a speed test at speedtest.net to check your upload speed
- Switch from Wi-Fi to a wired ethernet connection if possible
- Avoid uploading during peak internet usage times
- Close other applications or browser tabs that may be consuming bandwidth
4. Upload in smaller batches
If you're uploading many files at once, try uploading them in smaller batches of 10-20 files instead. Uploading too many large files simultaneously can overwhelm your browser and internet connection, causing uploads to fail or time out.
5. Try a different browser
Some browsers handle file uploads more reliably than others. If uploads are failing consistently:
- Try Google Chrome — it generally handles large uploads most reliably
- Disable browser extensions, especially ad blockers, which can interfere with upload requests
- Try an incognito/private window to eliminate extension interference
- Make sure your browser is updated to the latest version
Still not working?
If uploads continue to fail, contact creavio support with the file type, approximate file size, your browser name, and any error messages you see. We can investigate whether there's a platform-side issue affecting your uploads.
