Client Communication Timeline

Client Communication Timeline

Keeping track of what you said to a client — and when — is critical for delivering a professional experience. creavio's communication timeline shows every interaction with a client in a single, scrollable view.

What the Timeline Includes

The timeline aggregates all communication channels into one feed:

  • Emails: Every email sent and received, including automated messages from drip sequences and auto-responses.
  • SMS: Text messages sent through creavio's SMS system.
  • Chat messages: Messages exchanged through the client portal.
  • System events: Contract signed, invoice paid, gallery viewed, questionnaire completed.
  • Internal notes: Private notes you've added to the client's profile (visible only to you).

Accessing the Timeline

Open any client's profile and click the Timeline tab. The most recent activity appears at the top. Scroll down to see the full history. Each entry shows the date, time, channel, and content of the interaction.

Filtering and Searching

Use the filter dropdown to show only specific types of communication — for example, only emails, or only system events. The search bar lets you find specific messages by keyword. Looking for when you discussed album upgrades? Search "album" and jump straight to it.

Why This Matters

Before a client call, review the timeline to refresh your memory on where things stand. Before sending a follow-up, check whether a colleague already reached out. The timeline eliminates the guesswork and prevents embarrassing duplicate messages.

Adding Internal Notes

Click Add Note at the top of the timeline to attach a private note. Use notes to record phone call summaries, client preferences ("prefers outdoor locations"), or important details ("bride's mom is coordinating"). Notes are searchable and appear in the timeline alongside other events.
