Email Activity Log

Email Activity Log

You sent the gallery link three days ago and the client says they never got it. Did they? The email activity log tells you exactly what happened to every email you send through creavio.

Accessing the Email Activity Log

Go to Communication > Activity. You see a chronological list of every email sent from your account with status indicators.

Email Statuses

  • Queued — the email is waiting to be sent. This usually resolves in seconds.
  • Sent — creavio dispatched the email to the recipient's mail server.
  • Delivered — the recipient's mail server accepted the email. This does not mean the client read it — it means it reached their inbox (or spam folder).
  • Opened — the client opened the email. Tracked via a tiny invisible pixel. Open tracking is not 100% accurate — some email clients block tracking pixels — but it is directionally useful.
  • Clicked — the client clicked a link in the email. creavio tracks which link was clicked.
  • Bounced — delivery failed. Two types:
    • Hard bounce — the email address does not exist. The address is marked as invalid in the client record.
    • Soft bounce — temporary issue (full inbox, server down). creavio retries soft bounces automatically.
  • Complained — the recipient marked the email as spam. This is rare but important to know about.

Filtering the Log

Use the filters at the top to narrow the view:

  • Date range
  • Status — show only bounced, or only opened, etc.
  • Template — see activity for a specific email template
  • Client — search for emails to a specific person

Per-Client Email History

You can also see email activity per client in their activity timeline. Each email shows its status, so you know at a glance whether the client received and opened your messages.

What to Do About Bounces

If an email bounces:

  1. Check the email address for typos (gmial.com instead of gmail.com is common)
  2. Ask the client for an alternative email
  3. If the address is correct and bouncing, the client's mail server may be blocking you. Ask them to check their spam folder and whitelist [email protected]

Improving Deliverability

creavio sends emails through Resend with proper SPF, DKIM, and DMARC authentication. This means your emails are less likely to land in spam. To maintain good deliverability:

  • Do not send to purchased email lists
  • Remove bounced addresses from your contact list
  • Keep your content relevant — irrelevant bulk emails trigger spam filters
  • If you are sending to a large group, use segments and personalize with merge fields

Open Rate Benchmarks

For reference, photography businesses typically see:

  • Transactional emails (invoices, gallery links): 70-90% open rate
  • Booking confirmations: 85-95% open rate
  • Marketing/promotional emails: 20-35% open rate

If your open rates are below these ranges, check that your subject lines are clear and your sender name is recognizable (your business name, not "noreply").
