Email Analytics

Email Analytics

Knowing whether clients actually read your emails helps you improve communication and identify issues before they become problems. creavio tracks key email metrics for every message sent through the platform.

Where to Find Analytics

There are two levels of email analytics in creavio:

Per-email metrics: Open any sent email from a client's Activity tab to see that specific email's performance.

Aggregate analytics: Go to Communication > Analytics for an overview of all email performance across your account.

Metrics Tracked

  • Delivery rate: Percentage of emails that reached the recipient's inbox (vs. bounced)
  • Open rate: Percentage of delivered emails that were opened at least once
  • Click rate: Percentage of opened emails where the recipient clicked a link
  • Response rate: Percentage of emails that received a reply
  • Bounce rate: Percentage of emails that couldn't be delivered

Understanding Your Numbers

For photography business emails, here are healthy benchmarks:

  • Delivery rate: 98%+ is normal. Below 95% indicates potential email address quality issues.
  • Open rate: 60-80% for direct client communication. This is much higher than marketing email norms because your clients know you.
  • Click rate: 30-50% for emails containing gallery links or action items.

Analytics by Email Type

creavio breaks down metrics by email category so you can see which types perform best:

  • Booking confirmations
  • Invoice and payment emails
  • Gallery delivery notifications
  • Questionnaire requests
  • Workflow automation emails
  • Manual/custom emails

Using Analytics to Improve

If your gallery delivery emails have a low open rate, try changing the subject line. If questionnaire emails have a low click rate, the call-to-action might not be clear enough. Analytics turn guesswork into informed decisions.

One important caveat: open tracking relies on image pixel loading. Some email clients block this by default, so your actual open rate is likely higher than reported. Apple Mail's privacy features can inflate open rates. Take the numbers as directional guidance rather than exact counts.
