Email Deliverability

Email Deliverability

You can write the perfect email, but it's worthless if it lands in spam. Email deliverability is about making sure your messages actually reach your clients' inboxes. creavio provides the tools — here's how to use them.

Set Up Your Custom Sending Domain

The single most important thing you can do for deliverability is verify a custom sending domain. Instead of emails coming from a generic address, they'll come from [email protected].

  1. Go to Settings > Communication > Sending Domain.
  2. Enter your domain (e.g., yourstudio.com).
  3. creavio provides three DNS records to add: SPF, DKIM, and DMARC.
  4. Add these records at your domain registrar (GoDaddy, Namecheap, Cloudflare, etc.).
  5. Return to creavio and click Verify. Once verified, all emails send from your domain.

What SPF, DKIM, and DMARC Do

  • SPF tells email providers that creavio is authorized to send on your behalf.
  • DKIM adds a digital signature proving the email wasn't tampered with in transit.
  • DMARC tells providers what to do if SPF or DKIM checks fail — usually reject or quarantine the message.

Best Practices

  • Avoid spammy language: Words like "FREE," "ACT NOW," and excessive exclamation marks trigger spam filters.
  • Personalize your emails: Use merge tags. Emails addressed to "Hi {{client_name}}" perform better than generic greetings.
  • Clean your list: Remove bounced email addresses promptly. creavio auto-flags hard bounces.
  • Don't buy email lists: Only email people who've opted in through your forms.
  • Consistent sending volume: Sudden spikes in email volume raise red flags. Ramp up gradually.

Monitoring Your Reputation

Check your deliverability dashboard in Settings > Communication > Email Health. creavio tracks your bounce rate, spam complaint rate, and sender score. If any metric enters the danger zone, you'll see actionable recommendations to fix it.
