Password-Protected Galleries
Not every gallery should be public. Boudoir sessions, corporate events, and private family shoots all deserve an extra layer of privacy. creavio lets you lock any collection behind a password so only authorized viewers can access the images.
Setting a Password
Open the collection you want to protect and go to Settings → Privacy. Toggle on Password Protection and enter a password. creavio does not enforce complexity requirements — you can use a simple word the client will remember or a randomly generated string for maximum security.
How Clients Access It
When someone visits a password-protected gallery, they see your branding, the collection title, and a password prompt. After entering the correct password, the gallery loads normally. The browser remembers the password for 30 days so returning visitors don't have to re-enter it each time.
Sharing the Password
Best practices for sharing the password with your client:
- Include it in the delivery email alongside the gallery link
- Send it in a separate message for extra security
- Use a memorable word related to the session — the pet's name, the venue, the date
Changing or Removing the Password
You can update the password at any time from the same settings panel. If a password leaks or a client shares it beyond the intended audience, simply change it. You can also remove password protection entirely once the client has downloaded their images and the gallery no longer needs restrictions.
Password Protection vs. Private Links
creavio also offers private links — unique URLs that don't require a password but aren't discoverable by search engines. Use private links for low-sensitivity deliveries and password protection when confidentiality matters. You can combine both: a private link that also requires a password for maximum privacy.
Password protection is available on all plans.
