Photo Download Settings

Photo Download Settings

When a client downloads images from a collection, you control exactly what they receive. creavio's download settings let you set resolution limits, file formats, and size caps so you deliver the right files for the right purpose.

Resolution Options

Navigate to Collection Settings → Downloads to configure what clients can access:

  • Original resolution — the full-size file as you uploaded it
  • High resolution — resized to 4000px on the long edge, ideal for large prints
  • Web resolution — resized to 2048px, optimized for social media and websites
  • Custom resolution — specify your own pixel dimensions

You can enable multiple options simultaneously. Clients will see a dropdown menu when they click the download button.

File Format

By default, downloads deliver JPEG files. If you uploaded TIFFs or PNGs, you can choose whether clients receive the original format or a converted JPEG. JPEG conversion reduces file size significantly, which is helpful when clients are downloading dozens of images on a slow connection.

Watermark on Downloads

If you want to protect proofing galleries, enable watermarked downloads. Clients see watermarked previews and can only access unwatermarked originals after completing a purchase or receiving a download pin from you.

Bulk Download Limits

To manage bandwidth, you can set a maximum number of images per bulk download. When a client selects more than the limit, creavio splits the download into multiple ZIP files automatically. This prevents failed downloads from oversized archives.

Per-Image Controls

Need to restrict specific images? Mark individual photos as view only. These images appear in the gallery but the download button is hidden. This is useful for upselling prints — clients can see the image but must purchase to receive a file.

Download settings apply per collection. Each collection can have its own rules.
