creavio for Boudoir Photographers

Boudoir Photography on creavio

Boudoir photography requires a level of privacy and trust that most business platforms do not account for. Your clients are vulnerable. Your images are intimate. Every touchpoint from inquiry to delivery must communicate safety, professionalism, and discretion.

creavio gives you the tools to protect your clients while running a polished boudoir business.

Privacy-First Setup

Password-Protected Galleries

Every boudoir gallery should be password-protected by default. In your Collection settings, enable password protection and generate a unique password for each client. Never reuse gallery passwords.

Disable social sharing buttons on boudoir galleries. Your client may want to share their images, but that should be their choice, not a default option on the gallery page.

Watermarked Proofing

If you show images before final purchase, use creavio's watermark feature on proofing galleries. This protects your work during the selection process and prevents screenshots from replacing print purchases.

Download Controls

Configure your boudoir Collections with selective download permissions. Options include:

  • No downloads until final payment is received
  • Web-resolution only until album/print order is placed
  • Full-resolution downloads included in package

For boudoir, many photographers tie downloads to the final invoice being marked as paid. creavio can automate this: when the invoice status changes to "paid," the gallery download link activates.

Client Communication

The Consultation

Boudoir clients need more pre-session communication than any other genre. Use creavio's questionnaire feature to collect sensitive information securely:

  • Comfort level with different types of poses
  • Areas of the body they want highlighted or avoided
  • Wardrobe preferences and what to bring
  • Hair and makeup artist preferences
  • Whether images can be used in your portfolio (most say no, and that is fine)

Model Release and Privacy Agreement

Create a boudoir-specific contract that goes beyond your standard agreement. Include:

  • Image privacy clause: Images will never be shared publicly without written consent
  • Storage and deletion policy: How long you retain the images and how they are stored
  • Portfolio usage: Separate opt-in for portfolio use, not bundled with the main contract
  • Third-party access: No one except the photographer and the client will view the images

In creavio, create this as a separate contract template. Send it alongside your standard terms so the client signs both.

Booking and Pricing

Session Types

Common boudoir session structures:

  • The Classic: 60-90 minutes, 2-3 outfit changes, 20-30 edited images
  • The Experience: 2-3 hours, hair and makeup included, 40-50 images, album
  • The Mini: 30 minutes, 1 outfit, 10 edited images (great for first-timers)

Price your boudoir work to reflect the specialization and the privacy investment. This is not budget photography. Your pricing communicates the exclusivity and care your clients receive.

Hair and Makeup Coordination

If you include hair and makeup in your packages, add the artist as a vendor contact on the session. Use creavio's session notes to coordinate timing: client arrives for hair and makeup 90 minutes before shooting begins.

The Reveal Session

Many boudoir photographers use an in-person sales (IPS) model. The client comes to your studio to view their images for the first time and make selections. Use creavio's proofing mode on a studio display for the reveal.

After they select their favorites, create the invoice in creavio with their chosen products: albums, wall art, digital files. Collect payment on the spot through creavio's mobile invoicing.

Marketing Without Compromising Privacy

Boudoir marketing is tricky. You need to show your work, but most clients do not want their images public. Solutions:

  • Always ask for portfolio permission as a separate form
  • Use images that do not show faces when possible
  • Build a portfolio of styled shoots with models who have signed full releases
  • Feature client testimonials (text only) on your website and social proof pages

Boudoir photography is deeply personal work. The business systems you use should honor that. creavio keeps client data secure, galleries private, and communication professional from start to finish.
