Migrating from HoneyBook

Switching from HoneyBook to creavio doesn't have to be painful. This guide walks you through exporting your data from HoneyBook and importing it into creavio so nothing gets lost in the transition.

Before You Start

Make sure you have an active HoneyBook account so you can access the export tools. Don't cancel your HoneyBook subscription until you've confirmed all data has been imported successfully into creavio.

Step 1: Export Your Clients

  1. In HoneyBook, go to Contacts and click Export (top right).
  2. Select All Contacts and export as CSV.
  3. In creavio, go to Clients > Import and upload the CSV file.
  4. Map the columns — creavio will auto-detect most fields like name, email, and phone.
  5. Review the preview, then click Import.

Step 2: Recreate Your Templates

HoneyBook doesn't export email templates, contract templates, or questionnaires in a portable format. You'll need to recreate these in creavio:

  • Contracts: Copy the text from your HoneyBook contracts into creavio's contract builder. creavio supports all standard contract fields plus custom clauses.
  • Questionnaires: Rebuild your questionnaires using creavio's form builder. Most photographers have 2-3 standard questionnaires — it takes about 15 minutes each.
  • Email templates: Copy your most-used email templates into Communication > Templates.

Step 3: Move Your Workflows

Document your HoneyBook automation flows before canceling. In creavio, recreate them in Automations > Workflows. creavio's trigger and action system covers everything HoneyBook offers, plus additional triggers like tag-based automations and conditional branching.

Step 4: Update Your Links

Replace any HoneyBook booking links on your website, social media bios, and email signatures with your new creavio booking page URL. Update your contact form embed code as well.

What Doesn't Transfer

  • Payment history — export invoices from HoneyBook as PDFs for your records.
  • File attachments — download any files stored in HoneyBook projects.
  • Calendar events — these will be recreated as you book sessions in creavio.

Most photographers complete the full migration in under two hours.
