Social Media Manager Guide

Social Media Manager Guide

Posting consistently is the hardest part of marketing your photography business. You know you should. You just edited for 8 hours and the last thing you want to do is write an Instagram caption. creavio's Social Media Manager handles the heavy lifting.

Connecting Your Accounts

  1. Go to Marketing > Social > Settings
  2. Click Connect Account for each platform
  3. Sign in and authorize creavio

Supported platforms:

  • Instagram (Business or Creator account required)
  • Facebook (Pages)
  • Pinterest
  • LinkedIn (personal profile)
  • TikTok
  • Threads
  • X / Twitter
  • YouTube
  • Google Business Profile
  • Bluesky

Connect as many as you use. You do not need all of them.

Creating and Scheduling Posts

  1. Go to Marketing > Social > Compose
  2. Select which platforms to post to
  3. Choose images or video from your media library — your edited work is already there, ready to share
  4. Write your caption (or let AI write it — see below)
  5. Set the date and time, or post immediately
  6. Click Schedule

The calendar view in Social > Calendar shows all scheduled posts across all platforms. Drag posts to reschedule them.

AI-Powered Captions

This is where creavio is different from other scheduling tools. When you select a photo, creavio reads the image metadata — mood, subjects, composition, colors — and generates a caption that actually matches the image.

Click Generate Caption and choose a tone:

  • Professional — clean and direct
  • Casual — conversational and warm
  • Storytelling — narrative with context

The AI also suggests relevant hashtags based on the image content and your niche. Edit the output to match your voice. It is a starting point, not a final draft.

Content Strategy

Under Social > Strategy, creavio analyzes your posting patterns and suggests:

  • Best times to post based on when your audience is active
  • Content mix recommendations — how often to post portfolio work vs. behind-the-scenes vs. educational content
  • Platform-specific tips — what works on Instagram is not what works on LinkedIn
  • Posting frequency goals with streak tracking

Analytics

Go to Social > Analytics to see performance across all connected platforms:

  • Engagement rate — likes, comments, shares relative to reach
  • Follower growth — track growth over time
  • Top performing posts — see what resonates
  • Best posting times — data-driven optimal schedule

Metrics sync every 6 hours. Click any post to see its individual performance.

Grid Preview (Instagram)

Under Social > Grid, see a preview of your Instagram grid before you post. Drag scheduled posts to rearrange and ensure your feed looks cohesive. This is especially useful for photographers who curate a consistent aesthetic.

Multi-Platform Posting Tips

  • Do not post the same thing everywhere. Customize the caption for each platform. LinkedIn is professional. Instagram is visual. Twitter is conversational.
  • Vertical video performs best on TikTok and Reels. Horizontal on YouTube and LinkedIn.
  • Pin your best post to the top of each platform profile.
  • Post consistently over perfectly. Three decent posts a week beats one perfect post a month.
