Payment Plans and Partial Payments

Flexible payment options for your clients

Not every client can pay the full amount upfront, especially for larger bookings like weddings or commercial projects. creavio's payment plan feature lets you split any invoice into installments with clear due dates so both you and your client know exactly what to expect.

Setting up a payment plan

  1. Create an invoice as you normally would with your line items and total.
  2. Toggle on Payment Plan in the invoice settings.
  3. Define the installments: how many payments, the amount of each, and their due dates.
  4. Send the invoice. Your client sees the full breakdown with the first payment due immediately or on your specified date.

How it works for clients

When a client opens an invoice with a payment plan, they see the total amount, the installment schedule, and a clear button to pay the current installment. After each payment, the invoice updates to show what's been paid and what's remaining. Clients can return to the same invoice link to make future payments when they're due.

Tracking partial payments

  • Invoice status updates automatically: draft, sent, partially paid, paid, or overdue.
  • Payment history shows every payment made against the invoice, including dates and amounts.
  • Dashboard totals reflect both collected revenue and outstanding balances, so your financial picture is always accurate.

Automatic reminders

creavio sends payment reminders before each installment is due. If a payment is missed, overdue reminders go out automatically. You set the timing: one day before, three days before, or whatever cadence works for your business. This means you never have to personally chase a payment again.

Common payment plan structures

  • 50/50 split — Half at booking, half before the session. Clean and simple.
  • Three installments — A deposit at booking, a second payment midway, and the balance at delivery.
  • Monthly payments — Spread the total over several months for high-value packages.

Payment plans reduce friction for clients and improve your booking rate for premium services. If a client hesitates at a $3,000 price tag, offering three payments of $1,000 can close the deal.
