Setting Up Packages
Clients want options, not a blank quote. Packages give them clear choices — pick a tier, see what is included, and book with confidence. They also increase your average sale because people anchor to the middle or top option.
What Is a Package?
A package in creavio is a bundled set of services at a single price. It can include:
- Session time (e.g., 8 hours of coverage)
- Number of edited images
- Prints or albums
- Second shooter
- Engagement session
- Travel fees
- Any custom line item
Creating a Package
- Go to Money > Packages
- Click + New Package
- Enter the package name (e.g., "Gold Wedding Package")
- Add a description — this shows on proposals and invoices
- Set the total price
- Add line items that make up the package:
- Each item has a name, description, and value
- The individual values help clients see the breakdown, but the total package price is what they pay
- Click Save
Tiered Pricing Strategy
Most photographers offer 3 packages. This is not a coincidence — it is a pricing psychology strategy:
- Silver / Starter — the base offering. Covers the essentials. Priced to attract budget-conscious clients.
- Gold / Standard — the most popular. Includes everything most clients want. Priced where you want most bookings to land.
- Platinum / Premium — the top tier. Includes everything plus extras. Makes the Gold tier feel like a good deal by comparison.
Example for wedding photography:
- Silver — $2,500: 6 hours, 1 photographer, 300 images, online gallery
- Gold — $4,000: 8 hours, 1 photographer + second shooter, 500 images, online gallery, engagement session
- Platinum — $6,000: 10 hours, 2 photographers, 700+ images, online gallery, engagement session, 12x12 album, prints
Using Packages in Proposals
Packages really shine in proposals. When you send a proposal, the client sees your packages side by side, picks one, signs the contract, and pays the deposit — all in one flow. This is the invoice on autopilot.
Go to Money > Proposals to create a proposal that includes your packages.
Adding Packages to Invoices
When creating an invoice, click + Add Package instead of adding individual line items. Select a package and all its items populate the invoice. You can still add or remove individual items after inserting.
Add-Ons
For items clients can optionally purchase on top of a package:
- Create separate line items for add-ons (e.g., "Extra Hour — $300", "Rush Delivery — $200")
- When sending a proposal, include add-ons as optional selections the client can check
Editing Packages
Editing a package updates it for future use. Existing invoices and proposals that used the old version are not affected — they retain the original pricing and items.
Package Analytics
Over time, Money > Packages shows you which packages sell most and your average revenue per package. Use this to adjust pricing. If everyone picks the cheapest option, your middle tier might be priced too high relative to what it offers.
