Password-Protected Pages
Sometimes you need to share work that isn't ready for public viewing. Password-protected pages let you control access to specific content on your creavio website.
Common Use Cases
- Client proofing pages: Share a curated selection with a specific client before the gallery is ready
- Pricing pages: Show pricing only to serious inquiries who've received the password
- Portfolio sections: Hide boudoir or private event work from general visitors
- Vendor collaboration: Share behind-the-scenes content with wedding vendors
- Pre-launch content: Preview new website sections before going live
Setting Up Password Protection
- Go to Website > Pages
- Select the page you want to protect
- Click Page Settings (gear icon)
- Toggle Password Protection on
- Enter a password (or let creavio generate one)
- Optionally customize the lock screen message
- Click Save
The Lock Screen
When someone visits a protected page, they see a clean, branded lock screen with a password field. You can customize the message that appears, for example: "This gallery is private. Enter the password provided by your photographer."
Sharing the Password
You can share the password however you prefer: email, text, in person. creavio can also send it automatically by clicking Share Access on the protected page, which generates an email to the client with the password and direct link.
Multiple Passwords
Each protected page has its own password. This means you can give different clients different passwords without worrying about cross-access. If you need to revoke access, simply change that page's password.
SEO Considerations
Password-protected pages are automatically excluded from search engine indexing. They won't appear in Google results, your sitemap, or your public page listing. This is handled automatically so you don't need to configure anything extra.
The protection applies to the page content only. The page title may still appear in your site navigation unless you also hide it from the menu under Page Settings.
