End of Year Is Your Biggest Opportunity
November and December bring holiday mini sessions, gift certificate sales, and a natural reason to reconnect with every past client. Plan this right and your Q4 revenue can match the rest of the year combined.
Holiday Mini Sessions
Setup in creavio
Create a dedicated session type: "Holiday Mini Session." Set the duration to 15-20 minutes with 5-10 minute buffers. Price competitively since minis are a volume play. $150-250 per session is common, with 15-20 sessions per day.
Open a limited number of dates on your booking calendar. Scarcity drives urgency. "Only 3 days available for holiday minis" books faster than "Available all December."
Marketing
Announce minis 6-8 weeks before the first date. Use creavio's email marketing to blast your client list. Post on social media through the social media manager. Create a dedicated page on your creavio website with details, pricing, sample images, and a direct booking link.
Segment your email list. Past holiday mini clients get a loyalty offer. New clients get the standard pitch. Use creavio's tags to identify last year's mini session clients.
Delivery
Mini session clients expect fast turnaround. Commit to 1-week delivery and beat it if possible. Use a streamlined editing preset. Upload to creavio Collections with download enabled. Send the gallery link automatically on publish.
Gift Certificates
Photography gift certificates sell well in November and December. Grandparents buying family portraits. Partners buying boudoir sessions. Friends buying headshot sessions.
Create gift certificate products in creavio's invoicing. Offer set amounts ($100, $200, $500) or custom amounts. When purchased, email the buyer a beautifully designed certificate (create the template in Canva).
Track gift certificate redemption by creating a tag: "gift-cert-[year]." When a recipient books, apply the certificate value as a credit on their invoice.
Year-End Thank You
Send a thank-you email to every client you worked with this year. Segment your list and personalize:
- Wedding clients: "Happy first holiday season as a married couple!"
- Family clients: "Wishing your family a wonderful holiday season."
- Corporate clients: "Thank you for trusting me with your team's images this year."
Include a favorite image from their session (with their permission). This personal touch gets shared on social media, generating free exposure during the highest-traffic time of year.
Planning Ahead
Before the year ends, set up your Q1 marketing in creavio. Schedule January and February social posts. Draft your "new year, new photos" email campaign. Build your slow season strategy so January does not feel like a cliff.
The end of the year is not a wrap-up. It is a launchpad. Use it to generate revenue, strengthen relationships, and set up next year for success.
