Facebook post size

Facebook's Help Center gives no pixel size for a photo in a post. The presets here are Meta's own numbers for Feed ads and link previews, each labelled.

Facebook publishes no pixel size for an ordinary photo post. Meta's ad pages give 1080 x 1080 (1:1) and 1440 x 1800 (4:5) for Feed images, and its link preview page asks for at least 1200 x 630.

How to use the tool

  1. Add a photo: drop a JPG, PNG, WebP, AVIF, HEIC or JFIF, or choose one from your device.
  2. Pick a size. Drag and zoom the crop box until the part you want sits inside it.
  3. Download a JPG (the default) or a PNG, drawn at the exact width and height you picked. Nothing is uploaded.

What the size means

Facebook's Help Center publishes no pixel size for a photo in an ordinary post. Its articles on sharing photos, read 24 October 2026, give none. This page says so rather than inventing a number.

Meta does publish sizes for ads and links, and each preset names its source. Meta's minimum pixel page lists 1080 x 1080 for a 1:1 Facebook Feed image and 1440 x 1800 for 4:5. The Meta Ads Guide lists a Feed image ad at 1440 x 1800, up to 30MB. Meta's aspect ratio page uses 1080 pixels by 1350 pixels as its example of 4:5, not as a post size.

For a shared link, Meta for Developers asks for at least 1200 x 630 pixels, close to 1.91:1. That preset is for link previews, not photo posts.

Questions

Is it private?

Yes. The crop runs in your browser. No file is sent to creavio or anyone else, and nothing is stored after you close the tab. The HEIC decoder downloads once, the first time you add a HEIC photo.

Which browsers does it work in?

Current versions of Chrome and Safari. It uses only features built into the browser, so there is nothing to install.

HEIC decoding uses heic-to and libheif, free software licensed under the GNU LGPL 3.0. They are included unmodified as a separate file, loaded only when you add a HEIC photo. The source code is at the links above.
