Session Types & Pricing
Session types are the foundation of your booking system. They define what you offer, how long each session lasts, and what you charge. Well-organized session types make booking effortless for both you and your clients.
Creating a Session Type
- Go to Settings > Session Types and click New Session Type.
- Enter a name (e.g., "Family Portrait," "Wedding - Full Day," "Corporate Headshot").
- Set the duration in minutes or hours.
- Enter the base price. This is the starting price displayed on your booking page.
- Write a description that explains what's included. Keep it client-friendly — no industry jargon.
- Upload a cover image that represents this session type on your booking page.
- Click Save.
Pricing Options
creavio supports flexible pricing structures for each session type:
- Flat rate: A single price for the session (e.g., $350 for a one-hour portrait session).
- Starting at: Display a starting price with the option to add packages or upgrades (e.g., "Starting at $2,500" for weddings).
- Package-based: Link the session type to specific packages so clients choose their package during booking.
- Custom quote: Hide the price and require a consultation before quoting. Best for large or complex sessions.
Session Settings
Each session type has additional settings to control the booking experience:
- Available days: Restrict which days of the week this session type can be booked (e.g., portraits on weekdays only, weddings on Saturdays).
- Buffer time: Add padding before and after the session for setup and travel.
- Max bookings per day: Limit how many sessions of this type you'll accept per day.
- Advance booking window: Set the minimum and maximum lead time (e.g., book at least 7 days out, up to 6 months out).
- Retainer required: Require a deposit at booking to confirm the session.
Organizing Session Types
Drag and drop session types to reorder them on your booking page. The order here is the order clients see. Put your most popular or highest-value session types at the top.
You can also archive session types you no longer offer. Archived types are hidden from your booking page but remain in your records for historical sessions.
