Troubleshoot client connections

Connections to a client's outside accounts can lapse over time. This guide explains what the states mean, what you can fix yourself, and when the client has to act.

Reading connection status

Open the client and go to the Connections tool in their workspace. Each connected account shows its state. A connection can be healthy, or it can need attention because it has expired or been disconnected on the platform's side. A connection that has not been re-checked recently is reported honestly as unverified rather than assumed to be fine.

Expired or disconnected accounts

When an account shows as expired or disconnected, reconnect it from the Connections tool. Which accounts you can reconnect on your own, and which require the client, depends on how that platform is connected. See Which client connections need the client, and which don't for the full breakdown, and the per-platform guides:

What "no accounts selectable" means

Sometimes you reach the connect step and the picker is empty, with no account to choose. That almost always means the underlying access has not been granted yet, rather than a bug in creavio. For an ad account, the account has to be assigned to the business access creavio uses before it will appear. For a Google Ads account, an account that is already connected, or not yet linked to creavio's manager account, will not be selectable. Grant or assign the access on the platform side first, then return to the picker.

When the client has to act

Some connections can be renewed entirely from your side. Others depend on access that only the client controls, and for those the client has to complete a step before you can finish. The connections guide linked above tells you which is which for each platform, so you know whether to reconnect yourself or ask the client. If a connection keeps failing after you reconnect, or an account reports it is not ready, contact support rather than reconnecting over and over.
