Protect your work with contracts
Contracts in creavio let you send legally binding agreements to your clients with built-in e-signatures — no third-party signing tools needed. Whether it's a model release, session agreement, or wedding contract, you can create reusable templates and send customized versions in seconds. This guide covers creating your first template and sending it to a client.
Before you begin
- Have your contract language ready. If you don't have existing contracts, creavio provides starter templates you can customize.
- Know what variables you want to auto-fill (client name, session date, location, pricing).
Step-by-step
- Navigate to Contracts. Open the Money tile from your home dashboard or All Apps, then switch to the Contracts tab to access the contract management area.
- Create a template. Click New Template and give it a name like "Portrait Session Agreement" or "Wedding Contract." Templates are reusable — you'll customize them per client later.
- Write your contract content. Use the editor to add your terms, deliverables, cancellation policy, and any other clauses. Format with headings, bold text, and lists to keep it readable.
- Add variables. Insert dynamic variables like {{client_name}}, {{session_date}}, and {{total_amount}}. These auto-fill when you send the contract to a specific client.
- Send to a client. From the template, click Send, choose a client from your CRM, and fill in any variable values. The client receives an email with a link to review and sign electronically.
- Track signature status. Monitor which contracts are sent, viewed, and signed from the contracts dashboard. You'll receive a notification the moment a client signs.
- Download the signed contract. Once signed, both you and the client can download a PDF copy of the fully executed agreement for your records.
Pro tips
- Create templates for each service type. A wedding contract has very different terms than a headshot session agreement.
- Pair contracts with invoices — send both at the same time so clients can sign and pay in one sitting.
- Review and update your templates at least once a year to keep terms current with your business practices.
