Getting started with Invoicing

Get paid faster

creavio's invoicing system lets you create professional invoices, accept online payments, and track your revenue — all without leaving the platform. Whether you're billing for a single session or setting up payment plans, invoicing in creavio is designed to be fast and client-friendly. This guide walks you through setup and your first invoice.

Before you begin

  • You'll need a Stripe account. If you don't have one, you can create it during the connection process — it only takes a few minutes.
  • Have your pricing ready (session fees, packages, or hourly rates).

Step-by-step

  1. Connect Stripe. Go to Settings > Payments and click Connect Stripe. Follow the prompts to link your Stripe account. This is a one-time setup that enables you to accept credit cards, debit cards, and other payment methods.
  2. Open Money. Click the Money tile on your home dashboard, or open All Apps in the left sidebar and choose Money, then switch to the Invoices tab. You'll see your invoice dashboard with tabs for draft, sent, paid, and overdue invoices.
  3. Create a new invoice. Click New Invoice, select a client from your CRM, and add line items. Each line item needs a description, quantity, and price.
  4. Set payment terms. Choose a due date and optionally enable partial payments or payment plans. creavio automatically calculates remaining balances.
  5. Preview and send. Use the preview to see exactly what your client will receive. When it looks right, hit Send. The client gets a professional email with a secure payment link.
  6. Track payment status. Back on the invoice dashboard, monitor which invoices are paid, pending, or overdue. creavio updates statuses in real time as payments come through Stripe.
  7. Send a reminder. For overdue invoices, send a gentle payment reminder directly from the invoice detail view with one click.

Pro tips

  • Add your logo and business details in Settings before sending your first invoice — it makes a professional first impression.
  • Use line items consistently so your revenue reports are easy to read. For example, always use "Wedding Photography" rather than variations like "Wedding Shoot" or "Wedding Pkg."
  • Enable email notifications so you know the moment a client pays.
