What the size means
Instagram's article "Share a post with multiple photos or videos on Instagram", read 26 October 2026, says a carousel holds up to 20 photos and videos, and the orientation you choose, square, portrait or landscape, affects all of them. You can't select a different orientation for each photo.
The carousel article gives no pixel size. The sizes come from "Image resolution of photos you share on Instagram": photos up to 1080 pixels wide, with an aspect ratio between 1.91:1 and 3:4. So the tallest is 1080 x 1440 and the widest 1080 x 566. The square, 1080 x 1080, is worked out from 1:1.
To post a set, keep one preset picked and crop each photo with it in turn, so every file comes out the same size.
Questions
Is it private?
Yes. The crop runs in your browser. No file is sent to creavio or anyone else, and nothing is stored after you close the tab. The HEIC decoder downloads once, the first time you add a HEIC photo.
Can I crop all the photos at once?
No. The tool crops one photo at a time. Keep the same preset picked and add each photo in turn.
Which browsers does it work in?
Current versions of Chrome and Safari. It uses only features built into the browser, so there is nothing to install.
HEIC decoding uses heic-to and libheif, free software licensed under the GNU LGPL 3.0. They are included unmodified as a separate file, loaded only when you add a HEIC photo. The source code is at the links above.
