Gallery Delivery
What file types can I upload to galleries?
Images: JPEG, PNG, WEBP, and TIFF. RAW files (CR2, NEF, ARW, RAF, DNG) are accepted — creavio generates a preview thumbnail automatically so clients see a visual representation without RAW processing software.
Video: MP4 and MOV. Videos are transcoded for web delivery so clients can watch directly in the gallery without downloading.
Most photographers upload edited JPEGs for client delivery and keep RAW files in their own archive. creavio optimizes uploads for fast web loading while preserving the original resolution for downloads. No quality loss.
Are there upload or storage limits?
Storage depends on your plan. Free gets 1GB. Pro gets 10GB. Studio gets 50GB. Agency gets unlimited storage.
No per-gallery limit on the number of files. Upload 20 photos or 2,000 — doesn't matter. Per-file size limit is 100MB for images and 2GB for video. Batch uploads process in parallel so large deliveries finish fast.
Approaching your limit? You'll see a warning on your dashboard with options to upgrade or archive older galleries. See Plan Limits for the full breakdown.
How do clients download their photos?
You share a gallery and the client gets an email with a direct link. No account required. They click, browse at full resolution, and download.
Download options: individual images via the download button, or the entire gallery as a ZIP using Download All. You control whether clients can download originals, web-size versions, or both. You can also restrict downloads entirely for a proofing-only experience.
Configure download settings per gallery under the gallery's Settings tab. Works on any modern browser, desktop or mobile. For more details, see Download Settings.
Can I password-protect a gallery?
Yes. Every gallery has an optional password protection setting. Visitors must enter the correct password before they see anything.
Set the password when creating or editing the gallery. Share it in the delivery email or separately — your call. Change or remove the password anytime without affecting the gallery link. Passwords are case-sensitive.
Useful for boudoir, private sessions, or any situation where a unique link isn't enough. If a client forgets the password, they can request it through the gallery page and creavio sends it to the email on file. See Password-Protected Galleries for setup steps.
Do galleries expire?
Not by default. Galleries stay accessible for as long as your creavio account is active.
You can set an optional expiration date on any gallery. When it expires, the client sees a message to contact you. The images aren't deleted — you can reactivate the gallery anytime by removing or extending the expiration date.
Configure an automatic reminder email that goes out a set number of days before expiration so clients have time to download. Many wedding photographers set a 12-month expiration as standard practice.
Can I add watermarks to gallery images?
Yes. Upload your watermark (PNG with transparency works best) under Settings > Branding > Watermark. Configure position, size, and opacity.
When watermarking is enabled, preview images in the browser show your watermark. Downloads are unwatermarked originals. This lets you share galleries publicly without risking unprotected screenshots.
Enable or disable per gallery, or set a default for all new galleries. Watermarks are applied server-side in real time — change your watermark image and it updates across all galleries using it. No re-uploads needed.
How does client proofing work?
Upload images and enable proofing mode on the gallery. The client opens the gallery and sees a heart icon on each image. They click to favorite, leave comments on individual photos, and submit their selections when done.
You receive a notification with the favorited images and comments. From there, create a final delivery gallery with just the selected images, or enable downloads on the proofing gallery for favorites only.
Proofing supports a selection limit if you want to cap how many images the client can choose — common for album design workflows. The client can change selections until they hit the submit button. See Proofing & Selections for the full workflow.
Can clients leave comments on individual photos?
Yes, when proofing mode is enabled. Clients click the comment icon on any image and leave text feedback. Comments appear as a threaded conversation attached to each photo, visible to you and the client only.
You get email notifications when new comments are posted. Reply from the gallery view or directly from the notification email. Comments are timestamped and attributed to the commenter.
Disable comments per gallery if you prefer a simpler proofing experience with just favorites. Comments are never visible to other gallery visitors, even if the link is shared publicly.
What are Collections and how do they work?
Collections group multiple galleries under one link. A wedding client might have separate galleries for getting ready, ceremony, reception, and portraits — all under one collection with a single delivery link.
The client sees a landing page with all galleries listed. Browse each one individually or download everything at once. Each gallery within a collection has its own settings for downloads, watermarks, and expiration. Add new galleries to an existing collection anytime without generating a new link.
Collections are available on Studio and above. Free gets 5 collections. Pro gets 50. Studio gets 100. Agency is unlimited. See Collection Templates for setup details.
Does creavio have AI features for galleries?
Yes. When you upload images, creavio runs AI auto-analysis that handles three things: quality scoring (flags potential issues like exposure, focus, or noise), keyword generation (adds searchable tags based on image content), and smart tagging (categorizes by scene type, number of people, indoor/outdoor, etc.).
This means your galleries are automatically organized and searchable without manual tagging. Clients and you can search within a gallery by keyword. The quality scoring helps you curate stronger deliveries by surfacing your best work first.
Can I customize the gallery appearance?
Your brand settings (Settings > Branding) cascade to all galleries automatically — logo, colors, fonts. Beyond that, each gallery has layout options: grid, masonry, or slideshow view. You choose the default; clients can switch between views.
Cover images, custom messages, and a description appear at the top of the gallery page. For collections, you can set a cover image and intro message on the landing page. The goal is that every client touchpoint looks like your brand, not like a generic hosting platform.
Is there print lab integration?
Not yet. We're building toward it, but direct print lab integration is not available today.
Right now, clients download print-ready files at full resolution and order prints through any lab they choose. Many photographers include a recommended print lab list in their gallery delivery email or on their website.
When lab integration launches, clients will order prints, albums, and wall art directly from the gallery page with fulfillment handled by partner labs. Photographers on paid plans will be first to access it. It's on the roadmap. We'll be honest about what exists and what doesn't.
