Define what you offer
Services are the foundation of your booking system in creavio. Each service represents a type of session you offer, such as portrait sessions, weddings, headshots, or mini sessions. When clients book with you, they choose from your list of services.
Creating a service
- Navigate to Bookings > Services from the left sidebar.
- Click Add Service to create a new one.
- Fill in the details: name, description, duration, and price.
- Save, and the service is immediately available for booking.
Pricing options
- Fixed price — A single price for the session (e.g., $500 for a 2-hour portrait session).
- Starting at — Display a base price with the understanding that add-ons may increase the total.
- Custom quote — No price displayed. Clients inquire and you provide a personalized quote.
Session duration
Set the length of each session type. This controls how the booking calendar calculates availability. A 90-minute session blocks out 90 minutes on your calendar. You can also add buffer time before or after for travel, setup, or breaks.
Add-ons
Add-ons let clients customize their booking with extras like additional hours, second shooters, print credits, or rush delivery. Each add-on has its own price and description. Clients select add-ons during the booking process, and the total updates automatically.
Availability windows
Control when each service can be booked. You might offer mini sessions only on Saturdays, or keep weekday mornings open for headshots. Each service can have its own availability rules that override your default schedule.
Tips for setting up services
- Start with your three to five most-booked session types. You can always add more later.
- Write descriptions that help clients understand what's included, not just the session length and price.
- Use add-ons for anything that varies between clients. It keeps your base pricing clean while offering flexibility.
- Review your services quarterly to make sure pricing and descriptions reflect your current offerings.
