How to convert WebP to JPG

  1. Add your WebP images: drop them on the box above, or choose them from your device. You can add up to 20 at once.
  2. Your browser converts each one to JPG right away. Nothing is uploaded.
  3. Download each JPG, or download them all together as a single zip.

What is a WebP file?

WebP is an image format Google introduced in 2010 to make web pages load faster. It supports lossy and lossless compression and transparency, and most websites now serve it, so images saved from a page often arrive as .webp. Browsers show it, but older photo editors, some print labs, office documents and upload forms do not accept it.

What is a JPG?

JPG (also written JPEG) is the format for sharing photographs. It is lossy, which keeps files small, and every browser, phone, editing app, print lab and email client opens it. It has no transparency.

Questions

Is it private?

Yes. The converter is a page, not an upload: your browser opens each file, converts it and saves the result to your device. No file is sent to creavio or to anyone else, and nothing is stored after you close the tab.

Is the quality kept?

The JPG keeps the same pixel dimensions and is saved at quality 92 out of 100. JPG has no transparency, so transparent areas are filled with white; use WebP to PNG to keep them. An animated WebP becomes a still of its first frame, and metadata is not copied.

How many files can I convert at once?

Up to 20 at a time. Download them one by one, or all together as a single zip.

Is there a file size limit?

Each image can be up to 50 MB. A larger file shows a message and is not added.

Which browsers does it work in?

Current versions of Chrome and Safari. It uses only features built into the browser, so there is nothing to install.

Zip files are built with fflate (MIT license).
